This is a great find. This taco restaurant was recommended by our host. You need to go for your own experience. Enjoy one dish or share a few dishes. Either way you will enjoy. Your given a tray of variety of mild to hot salsas freshly made each day to use. The restaurant has unique style of olden day and cowboy memorabilia and other fun stuff throughout with nightly live music.
We had an incredible time at El Ahorcado. The interior is super niche and fun, and the food was amazing! Their tacos are very recently priced, and all of them were gourmet and delicious. They also provide a whole platter of different sauces and toppings to customize your tacos, which was just the cherry on top. I also had one of the best margaritas I’ve ever had there. Highly recommend giving this place a try!

The tortillas were fresh, warm, and perfectly soft, while the fillings were packed with flavor. I tried the carne asada, al pastor, and carnitas tacos, and each one was incredible in its own way. The meat was juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The al pastor had that perfect hint of sweetness with a smoky char that made it irresistible. The toppings were fresh, and the salsas were bursting with bold flavors, adding just the right amount of heat and zest. Aside from the tacos, I also ordered the guacamole and chips, which were incredibly fresh and delicious. The guacamole was creamy with just the right balance of lime, cilantro, and spice. Came here at the recommendation of a local and was not disappointed. The atmosphere is much like an antique store with walls covered with vintage decorations. Very friendly wait staff and the food was absolutely delicious. I word of caution- don't let the prices influence you to over order. My sons and I ordered 4 tacos each as the server said they were small; we each struggled to get through two of them! The Hangman is a must for anyone looking for an authentic experience with fantastic food.
100/100 I consider myself a food snob, and I am rarely thoroughly impressed when I eat out. Not the case here at El Ahorcado, absolutely phenomenal. SERVICE WAS AMAZING, The staff has worked very hard to get a good place in the top 5 restaurants to eat delicious food in San Jose del Cabo. 5 Food quality. 5 Service. 5 Price (regarding variety-portion-quantity-taste/flavorful -presentation-quality-price). 5 Atmosphere/nice music/cleaning/restrooms/indoor. 3 Parking. Few spots outside the restaurant.
If you love a variety of salsas with great tacos and other great beef, pork and vegetarian dishes, this is your place. Great ambiance, friendly service, amazing live music and reasonably priced!! Highly recommend.
This place is a hidden gem that we stumbled upon and SOOO glad we did. Natalia was our server and she was absolutely fantastic. The salsa tray/board was impressive with house made tortilla chips. Order as many tacos as you wish which was excellent for personal options and variety. Strawberry Daiquiri was homemade and very tasty & perfect with sweetness - very fresh. If you haven’t been, worth the stop and the atmosphere is very unique & fun making the experience even better.
